THOUSANDS OF NEXT GENERATION ENTREPRENEURS GOT TOGETHER FOR THE 2011 YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS SUMMIT
The World Trade Center was filled with over 15,000 participants last September 23, 2011 at the Go Negosyo Young Entrepreneurs Summit with its theme: “Be Smart, Be Entreprising; The Power to Move Up!”. The Event was a tribute to the inspiring young Filipino entrepreneurs who have found solution to poverty.
This event was initiated by the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) - Go Negosyo for the continuous spreading of its advocacy to the next generation entrepreneurs, to reinforce an enterprising spirit and to empower them with the relevant entrepreneurship tools to help them move up in life.
“We believe it is best to teach entrepreneurship while they are young. This is why we are launching again the biggest annual gathering for young and aspiring entrepreneurs, which is now on its third year," says Mr. Joey Concepcion, Founder of Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship - Go Negosyo.
Some well-known personalities like former Secretary of the Department of National Defense, Mr. Gilberto Teodoro, Jr. gave a very inspirational message. Joining him was Deputy Executive Secretary Teofilo Pilando of Malacanan and PLDT-Smart bossing Mr. Manny V. Pangilinan who imparted their own messages for the youth audience.
In Partnership with The Philippine Star, presented by Mr. Joey Concepcion, Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, Deputy Executive Secretary Teofilo Pilando and Mr. Manny V. Pangilinan of PLDTSmart, a set of Go Negosyo Young STARpreneurs were awarded. These are the following: Xander Angeles, Peter Chen and Juliet Herrera, Ivan Many Dy, Clang Garcia, Kathleen Kaye Garcia, Denise Gonzales and Monica Eleazar, Cristalle Henares, GJ and Maricel Jimenez, Lester Lagos, Kim Lato, Krie Lopez, Jen Real, Lourd Ryan Ramos, Antonio Tiu and the Twillery group composed of Martina Manas, Enzo Banson, Katrina Tecson, and Ezra Capucion.
Special Award was given to Xander Angeles of Edge of Light Studios, GJ and Maricel Jimenez of Banapple, Lester Lagos of The Urban Frog, Peter Chen and Juliet Herrera of Serenitea as the Next Gen Bossings of PLDT SME Nation.\
Another Special Award was given by BPI Family Ka-Negosyo for the Young Entrepreneur Business Excellence Award to Monica Eleazar and Denise Gonzales of Indigo Baby.
Last Special Award was the Multiplyneur Award given to Kim Lato of Kimstore by Multiply.com.
Celebrities and other talented personalities graced the audience with entertainment during the day. Participants were filled with excitement during the special appearance of VitPower endorser, Phil Younghusband and his brother James, who gave signed soccer balls to some lucky audience.
Furthermore, the participants and aspiring entrepreneurs learned from the Starpreneur Awardees and from other key personalities about having the right mindset and to be like what they are today. Included in the forum entitled “Young and Restless in Business” were CHED Chair Patricia Licuanan, DTI Usec Merly Cruz, NYC Chair Usec Leon Flores III, Ms. Esther Vibal, Mr. Tennyson Chen, Mr. Edgardo Herbosa and the Young Starpreneur awardees.
The listeners were treated with a series of superb speakers with the likes of Mike Enriquez, Jack Madrid, Bro. Bo Sanchez, Josiah Go, Henry Tenedero, Michael Lobrin and Roselle Ambubuyog.
In the late afternoon, students and other participants had the chance to learn from very successful entrepreneurs like Bam Aquino of Hapinoy, Kenneth Cobonpue, Injap Sia of Mang Inasal, RJ David of Sulit.com, and Fred Moreno of Ystilo Salon.
